    Hi Sadie,

I just wanted to email you to thank you and your team for my 40th Birthday Party on Saturday 23rd February. It all went very well and all the guests commented on how smoothly the day went. It was a fabulous day- if not a little cold.

Everything was handled beautifully by the team and I felt that I needed to thank you. It is such a great venue and everybody has commented on how much they enjoyed the day.

    Thanks again.

    Kindest regards

    Louise McLeod

    Dear Sadie and Nigel,

Karl and I just wanted to say a massive Thank You for making our special day the best day of our lives. From the moment we walked into the venue, we knew it was exactly what we wanted and you worked so tirelessly with us to help us create a memorable day that we simply cannot thank you enough.

The entire team worked so hard on the day and the food was amazing, we are still getting compliments on the wedding breakfast. If we could do it all over again, we would, and wouldn’t change a thing. The Fleece will remain in our hearts with such fond and happy memories for the rest of our lives.

Thank you for making that happen.

    Mr and Mrs Fisher

    Hi,

Just to say "many thanks" for a lovely evening at The Fleece.
After a little searching in the dark (we really were only yards from you), we parked in the square by the Church, found the entrance and not only did two local gents say good evening as we got to the door, but on entry were greeted by a really friendly lady (who, sorry to say I didn`t catch her name). Then two, I presume, regulars said "helo" then gave me advice on a good subsitute for Guiness for Carol! This really was like stepping back so many years to what then was the best of british, so then being shown to our table by the fire by ?? which was so thoughtly of you. The young gentleman who took our order genuinely did "look after us very well". Just got to say that the pub speaks for itself and our meal was so nicely cooked and presented that it made our evening, but truly, it`s the people (both staff and locals) who make The Fleece what it is - a real hidden gem (I`ve already thanked our friends for recommending you). Sorry if I`ve gone on a little, but I had to "speak as I find", so THANK YOU to all of you - I`ll make a point of returning (in daylight to really see The Fleece in it`s complete location).
    Kind regards, Mike and Carol.

    Dear Nigel & Sadie,

Just a note to thank you for your spectacular efforts on our wedding day that took place on 18 August this year. Everything was absolutely perfect! The food was excellent, the barn looked gorgeous, and the festivities went by so smoothly that clearly tons of work was done 'behind-the-scenes'. Both our guests and ourselves felt at home for the whole day (which probably goes a way to explaining the singing at the end of the night... Sorry about that!) As the first couple to get married among our groups of friends, we've been criticised for setting the bar too high for the weddings to come... Which is brilliant :)

We'll send you some photographs in a subsequent e-mail; we tried to share them with you on Facebook but failed spectacularly. If you like them, please feel free to use them on your Facebook page / site. We didn't have any 'professional' photos taken, but some of the images are quite sweet nonetheless :)

We look forward to visiting again sometime soon!

    Best wishes,

    Rosie & Alan Bainbridge

    Sadie, Nigel,

We just wanted to say a massive thank you for all your help before and during our wedding reception on 11th August. We had an amazing day and all our guests have commented on what a lovely venue The Fleece is.

The food was delicious! Thank you so much for providing a special meal for one of our guests, due to her food intolerances, it meant she was also able to enjoy her food without any worries.

We also wanted to say thank you for letting us put up the tent for our "photobooth" - we got some brilliant photos from there.

My sister got married here on Sunday 26th August. The staff were amazing. So helpful and extremely friendly. The food that was served (pork cobbs with stuffing and apple sauce and a variety of salads) was fresh, cooked well and really tasty.

The room which were allowed to use to get ready in was small but decorated to a lovely standard and very clean.

The general ambiance at this pub is great and it seemed like it was very popular with locals and visitors alike.

All the family will be travelling up next August to celebrate their 1st anniversary and sample their famous 'sausage & mash'!!

Amazing ! We had just the best wedding day at The Fleece due mostly to Sadie's robust planning and organisation, endless patience with a neurotic bride, and first class catering.

Our friends were more than suitably impressed by the uniqueness of the venue and the barn really did look glorious, cosy but cool on a sunny Saturday afternoon.

I want to do it all over again, including the big fat breakfast the next day - I feel like we have made friends for life and literally nothing was too much trouble. I'm glad we got the THe Fleece before the masses realise what a gem it truly is.

Thank you so much for having us !

    To Sadie and Carly,

Thanks so much for helping to make our wedding day extra special. Our friends are still talking about what a great day it was. You made things so easy for us on the day which went far too quickly and thanks to Nigel for help with the de bunting!
We hope to see you all soon and show you the photos :)
    Cheers,
    Adam and Melissa

PS I hope we didn't upset too many people with rogue wellie wanging!

To Sadie, Nigel and Everyone at the Fleece,

Thank you for organising our amazing day on 9th June 2012. We loved every second.
Thank you to everyone for looking after us so well and for the fantastic food. Thanks Sadie for organising it all and putting up with all the questions.

    Love Rachel and Andy (Tindall)

I've stayed at this pub several times. I can't think of a better pub that I have been to ever( and that's coming from a rep who stays away regularly in the week for the last 25 years.) The beer is excellent, with a great choice on offer...."PIG'S EAR" is my favourite. Also, they ferment their own cider which is nice. The food is filling, well done and unpretentious.
A Fantastic building that is hidden in a lovely quaint village, with very friendly bar staff and locals. As a rep, they made me feel very welcome and I choose to stay there whenever I'm working in that area.
The landlord organises various events throughout the year as well as maintaining old and local aged traditions. Well worth a visit!!! A true gem.

A truly magical setting for our son and daughter-in-law's wedding. The food, service and venue were all superb. The staff were wonderful and nothing was too much trouble for them. Thanks to Nigel and Sadie for their support and to the staff who helped to make the day so memorable for everyone. Elaine and Graham Labrum

We justed wanted to say a great big thank you for helping our wedding on May 26th 2012 to go so brilliantly. We loved every minute and The Fleece Inn was the perfect setting (perhaps helped along a little by the amazing weather we had!). Your staff were all so helpful and did a fantastic job and Sadie's excellent organisation meant everything ran perfectly.

We would definitely recommend The Fleece Inn as a fantastic wedding venue!

    Dear Sadie

Thanks again for our amazing wedding day on the 19th May. You helped make it such a stress free experience from the first meeting to the day itself, and I was so overwhelmed by how beautiful the barn looked when the door was opened for me to walk in that I had to be prompted to start repeating my vows!!! Everyone had such a great time and we are so grateful for all the hard work that you put in. Our day was more perfect than I could have imagined.

    Thanks again,

    Krissie and Anthony.

We got married at the Fleece Inn in September 2011 and had our whole day there. The barn was perfect for the ceremony as it has a warm intimate feel to it, and it is a fantastic choice for a wedding reception as it is very relaxed and picturesque. We cannot thank Nigel and Sadie enough for all their time and help in planning the day. Sadie was brilliant with offering advice and very accommodating to our many ideas and wishes. She also ensured that the day went smoothly, so we were both relaxed on the day. The best kind of place to get married!! Thanks to all at the Fleece who helped out on our big day, we wish we could do it all over again!

    Best wishes

    Hello,
A few years ago, I was browsing thru an estate sale in East Anglia, near Waterbeach, and came upon
a print of the "The Fleece Inn". I purchased it and it has hung in my guest bedroom in Tyronza, Arkansas
    since then. I love it.....

My husband and I are frequent vistors in England. Waterbeach is the home of our dear friends.

England is our favorite getaway and we have grown to love it's people..

    God Bless England

I visited the Fleece with friends on Saturday evening. It's a lovely place and very interesting historically, but I and my friends couldn't help feeling that something wasn't right. We then realised that it was the lighting. Lighting is provided by somewhat bright ceiling lights, which detracts from the atmosphere of the pub. Buildings of this type were never lit from above but from the sides and tables. I frequent a lovely timber-framed pub in Sussex where there are subdued sidelights and candles on each table. The atmoshere is great and very different from the Fleece. In our view and from our experience if the lighting was changed in the Fleece then it become an even more poplar and sought after place.

We got married at the Fleece Inn in June 2011 and we can’t thank the Fleece Inn enough for such a beautiful wedding day. Sadie and her colleagues created the vision we had for our wedding day perfectly. It was really lovely that we were able to be so creative and Sadie and Nigel were extremely flexible and accommodating. All of our guests have commented on The Fleece Inn as a fantastic venue. The food was excellent. A friend of ours put it nicely when she said it was the best food that she has ever been served at a wedding! Everyone has come away from the day with such happy memories. Huge, huge thanks to Sadie and her collegues not only on the day but in the build up and to the Fleece Inn itself for blessing our wedding day with its rustic charm. We will see you very soon, love Mr and Mrs Bunting xx

We are staying at the nearby Fox Cottage and popped in for a bite to eat last night. Some rural pubs can be unwelcoming for out of towners but the Fleece could not have been further from that stereotype. Not only the staff but the punters made us feel right at home. The Pig's Ear was great and it was the best fish and chips I've had in ages! Thank you all.

Well it’s a wet and cold Monday morning at my home in bucks but my spirits are still high (mainly the apple’y ones) after a wonderful first experience of the fleece inn.

Nigel made me and my boyfriend very welcome and even when running a very busy pub spent time talking to us and giving us tip's on cider making.
He also let us park our camper van in his beautiful orchard were we were surrounded by twinkly Tilly lamps and the sound of many a glass of cider being qwoffed.

We had a wonderful night trying as many different varieties of cider as we could and attempting to walk straight ( didn’t happen!! the walking that is) so turning in with my hot water bottle in the wee hours I awaited the almighty headache that would greet me in the morning.

Waking up in the morning and listening to the sound of the birds in the apple trees and people surfacing after the night before, all bathed in the glorious sunshine, I found to great happiness that I had no headache!! Not only is the cider at the fleece in very yummy it also seems to have magic no headache ingredients I wonder is it brewed with resolve?? I would never have guessed it was November and I had spent a night in my old van with no heating.

We made the decision then and there that we must return and explore the pub and village more thoroughly and will be attend the wassail night on the 14th January.

Thanks Nigel for a brilliant evening

Watch out fleece in were coming back!!!

Look out for the moose hat xx

We got married at the Fleece on the 26th August 2011 (at time of writing, not yet divorced). The weather was atrocious and we had a crazy drunk northern woman in attendance. Despite these obstacles, the day was amazing. The barn was beautiful, the food was incredible, and the staff at the Fleece were very helpful (special thanks to Sadie and Nigel). If you seek intimacy and enjoy the traditional English countryside, the Fleece is the perfect venue for your nuptials. Plus they arranged some Morris Dancers for after the ceremony. What more can a couple desire?!

Thanks to Sadie, Nigel and everyone else at the Fleece who made our wedding day in August so wonderful. Everything on the day went so well and we had so many positive comments from guests about the day. The Fleece as a wedding venue is beautiful to begin with and with all the decorations (we had bunting and lights and table decorations) it was like something out of a wedding magazine! Both the wedding breakfast and food served in the evening was delicious.
And something that was repeatedly pointed out to us was how nice it was to have a bar with good drinks!

We are so glad we found the fleece for our wedding, it was a fantastic day in every way.
