Robbie Coltrane's B Road Britain Visits The Fleece!

The Fleece Inn was proud to be featured recently on “Robbie Coltrane’s B Road Britain” (transmitted 15 th August 2007) when Robbie and an ITV Outside Broadcast Team visited us in April this year to film around the Asparagus-ness that we get caught up in every year during the annual Vale Asparagus season and Festival hosted here each Whitsun Bank Holiday.

Robbie loves asparagus and joined our Landlord, Nigel, in the kitchen to cook awhile before settling down in our Pewter Room to compare dishes prepared by our chef using imported Chilean asparagus together with dishes made from locally sourced ‘gras.  Sadly, Robbie’s spell in our kitchen wasn’t aired when the programme went out however it’s a culinary experience laced with fun that Nigel won’t forget in a long while.  & you won’t be surprised to learn that the local delicacy came up trumps in the tasting stakes.
