Hello,
A few years ago, I was browsing thru an estate sale in East Anglia, near Waterbeach, and came upon
a print of the "The Fleece Inn". I purchased it and it has hung in my guest bedroom in Tyronza, Arkansas
since then. I love it.....

My husband and I are frequent vistors in England. Waterbeach is the home of our dear friends.

England is our favorite getaway and we have grown to love it's people..

God Bless England

I visited the Fleece with friends on Saturday evening. It's a lovely place and very interesting historically, but I and my friends couldn't help feeling that something wasn't right. We then realised that it was the lighting. Lighting is provided by somewhat bright ceiling lights, which detracts from the atmosphere of the pub. Buildings of this type were never lit from above but from the sides and tables. I frequent a lovely timber-framed pub in Sussex where there are subdued sidelights and candles on each table. The atmoshere is great and very different from the Fleece. In our view and from our experience if the lighting was changed in the Fleece then it become an even more poplar and sought after place.

We got married at the Fleece Inn in June 2011 and we can’t thank the Fleece Inn enough for such a beautiful wedding day. Sadie and her colleagues created the vision we had for our wedding day perfectly. It was really lovely that we were able to be so creative and Sadie and Nigel were extremely flexible and accommodating. All of our guests have commented on The Fleece Inn as a fantastic venue. The food was excellent. A friend of ours put it nicely when she said it was the best food that she has ever been served at a wedding! Everyone has come away from the day with such happy memories. Huge, huge thanks to Sadie and her collegues not only on the day but in the build up and to the Fleece Inn itself for blessing our wedding day with its rustic charm. We will see you very soon, love Mr and Mrs Bunting xx

We are staying at the nearby Fox Cottage and popped in for a bite to eat last night. Some rural pubs can be unwelcoming for out of towners but the Fleece could not have been further from that stereotype. Not only the staff but the punters made us feel right at home. The Pig's Ear was great and it was the best fish and chips I've had in ages! Thank you all.

Well it’s a wet and cold Monday morning at my home in bucks but my spirits are still high (mainly the apple’y ones) after a wonderful first experience of the fleece inn.

Nigel made me and my boyfriend very welcome and even when running a very busy pub spent time talking to us and giving us tip's on cider making.
He also let us park our camper van in his beautiful orchard were we were surrounded by twinkly Tilly lamps and the sound of many a glass of cider being qwoffed.

We had a wonderful night trying as many different varieties of cider as we could and attempting to walk straight ( didn’t happen!! the walking that is) so turning in with my hot water bottle in the wee hours I awaited the almighty headache that would greet me in the morning.

Waking up in the morning and listening to the sound of the birds in the apple trees and people surfacing after the night before, all bathed in the glorious sunshine, I found to great happiness that I had no headache!! Not only is the cider at the fleece in very yummy it also seems to have magic no headache ingredients I wonder is it brewed with resolve?? I would never have guessed it was November and I had spent a night in my old van with no heating.

We made the decision then and there that we must return and explore the pub and village more thoroughly and will be attend the wassail night on the 14th January.

Thanks Nigel for a brilliant evening

Watch out fleece in were coming back!!!

Look out for the moose hat xx

We got married at the Fleece on the 26th August 2011 (at time of writing, not yet divorced). The weather was atrocious and we had a crazy drunk northern woman in attendance. Despite these obstacles, the day was amazing. The barn was beautiful, the food was incredible, and the staff at the Fleece were very helpful (special thanks to Sadie and Nigel). If you seek intimacy and enjoy the traditional English countryside, the Fleece is the perfect venue for your nuptials. Plus they arranged some Morris Dancers for after the ceremony. What more can a couple desire?!

Thanks to Sadie, Nigel and everyone else at the Fleece who made our wedding day in August so wonderful. Everything on the day went so well and we had so many positive comments from guests about the day. The Fleece as a wedding venue is beautiful to begin with and with all the decorations (we had bunting and lights and table decorations) it was like something out of a wedding magazine! Both the wedding breakfast and food served in the evening was delicious.
And something that was repeatedly pointed out to us was how nice it was to have a bar with good drinks!

We are so glad we found the fleece for our wedding, it was a fantastic day in every way.

We got married at The Fleece Inn on 6th May 2011 and had the most amazing day! Sadie & Nigel had listened to everything we asked for and the day couldn't have gone better. All our guests loved the setting, and luckily for us the weather held so everyone was able to enjoy cider and gorgeous surroundings in the sunshine! The food was delicious (we knew it would be because we had been for a few meals beforehand!) and our coeliac guests were catered for with no trouble.

Having Sadie there on the day to keep everything running was great, she did a fantastic job! She also organised a fantastic evening buffet table of bread and salad to go with our wedding cheese cake, The rest of the staff were also great; the tables were set up beautifully for the wedding breakfast and the barn in the evening looked magical with the candles and fairylights.

All in all, the day flowed beautifully thanks to the hard work of everyone involved, so many, many thanks to all the staff at The Fleece. Our breakfast cooked by Nigel the next day was also delicious, and we left with many happy memories of the day :) We will be back to visit soon!

A big hello to Sadie and Nigel! Thank you for making our wedding day so perfect. We couldn't have been more looked after from the plannnig of our big day, to the wedding and then the breakfast that followed! The Fleece Inn is a magical place to get married. Steve and I along with all our family and friends loved everything about the day. The staff were amazing, food stunning and all of the trimmings and layout for the day and evening were just wonderful!

Sadie - thank you for everything!

We will definitely be back to try out more food and drink in the future and to enjoy the wonderful setting that is the Fleece Inn.

Hi Sadie, Nigel and all the staff,

What can I say that would adequately cover our thanks for what you all did for us on Saturday. It was FAB-U-LOUS. Everyone was completely blown away by the whole day. From the moment Alice arrived until she and Lee left the following day it was perfect. The picture Alice had in her head of how she wanted her wedding to be was completely brought to life by you all. We have had so many emails and phone calls telling us that it was the best wedding they have ever been to. The Morris men have to take the award for highlight of the day, the Scottish side of the family were amazed by it all. They may have pipes, kilts and dirks but you can't beat bells and hankies for getting a party started.
Thank you doesn't seem to cover it but thank you anyway to all of you who made the day so wonderful!!!!!

With very kind regards and more thanks than we can ever say,

Dear Nigel,

Thank you for providing such a splendid breakfast on 28 May for the Pembleton owners' Cotswold Tour. Everyone was really impressed and it looks like we may have to organise the event again next year. I'll be in touch if we do.

Best wishes,

Nicki

We had the perfect day and this was thanks to your planning, coordination and hard work not only on the day but leading up to it. Many of our guests have commented on how great the staff were and those who have been more involved in the planning stages speak very highly of the Fleece as they can see that you perfectly recreated the vision that we had for our wedding.

The setting at the Fleece Inn is absolutely stunning with all its rustic charm and it totally suited our summer fete style wedding with the bunting, ice cream tryke and vintage china - it was truly a lovely day.

We had our wedding at The Fleece Inn on 14th May 2011. The day was absolutely perfect and more beautiful than we could have ever dreamed.
Right from the start Sadie and her team listened to all our ideas and managed to create exactly the atmosphere we wanted. They all worked so hard throughout the day and we could not have been any happier. The food and drink was second to non and the service impeccable. The Fleece is a beautiful pub and the barn is so suited to intimate and romantic weddings and gatherings.
Thankyou all from the bottoms of our hearts for making our special day so perfect. I will recommnd you to friends and family. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Thank you so much to Sadie, Nigel and everyone at The Fleece for giving us the best wedding day imaginable. It was literally perfect in every way. Sadie was an absolute delight to plan and organise with and we were just so happy with the way everything turned out. It was exactly what we'd hoped for; relaxed, friendly, informal but most of all stunningly beautiful. We just cannot recommend The Fleece highly enough as a venue. So many of our guests had never been to the pub before and were absolutely overwhelmed by it's charms, but mainly by the welcoming atmosphere created by all it's lovely, lovely staff. We look forward to spending many a happy anniversary at the fleece and any other excuse we can think of between now and then! Thanks to everyone who made our day so special xxxxxx

Just a quick note to say a big thank you for making our wedding day so special. Everything from talking to Sadie about all of the arrangements to Amelia looking after everyone at the wedding, to the meal, to the party, to the breakfast the next day cooked by Nigel, to the picking up of the dress after the wedding was perfect and we would like to thank you all personally at the Fleece for this. You made our wedding day a day we always dreamed of and a day we will never forget.

On behalf of our guests we would also like to thank you as we are still hearing how fantastic the food was and how beautiful the venue is.

Thank you again, we will be coming back to visit regularly!

Our wedding reception at the Fleece Inn was absolutely perfect! The planning experience was made easy and stress free by staff, where nothing was too much trouble and everything was tailored perfectly to meet our needs. The venue and decorations were beautiful, the atmosphere was incredible, the food was delicious and the staff were attentive and professional throughout. Our guests continue to comment on what a fantastic venue it was and we would have no hesitation in recommending the Fleece Inn to others. Thank you to all who were involved in making our day a truly special day and a perfect start to married life!

“Our wedding at The Fleece Inn was the most amazing and memorable experience. Right from the day we booked it, the staff were nothing short of fantastic and so accommodating with our ideas. On the day everything went perfectly and the staff were fabulous. All of our guests fell completely in love with the place and many commented how relaxed and friendly it was. Staying the night in the lovely ensuite bedroom was fantastic and we woke up on our first morning as a married couple to the sound of the church bells across the square and then a hearty English breakfast by the open fire. What more could you possibly want? Thanks to Nigel and all the staff for making our big day so special.”

Best wishes
