Christmas by Candlelight -  book a table

On Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday evenings, 1st to 17th December, enjoy a magical dining experience with a festive twist as we ditch the usual lighting for candle & fairylight. The roaring open fires and twinkling decorations add to the atmosphere, the perfect accompaniment to our festive menu, real ales and fine wines.

Chamber folk quartet with Saul Rose on melodeon (Faustus, War Horse, Waterson Carthy) & Maclaine Colston on hammered dulcimer (Pressgang, Kings of Calicutt) joined by Beth Porter (SpellSongs, Bookshop Band) on Cello and Jennifer Crook (Broken Road, Cythara) on harp and guitar.

Tue 16 Dec, 8pm - Festive Folk: Churchfitters, £19 - Book Now

A double bass made out of scrap metal. Heart-wrenching vocals accompanied by a musical saw. Foot-stomping fiddle mixed with infectious funk-rock rhythms. Their “Christmas Cracker” show is a mouthwatering selection of traditional and original festive season songs which will see Christmas in with a bang, a paper hat-full of surprises, novelties – and some terrible jokes too!

Sun 21 Dec, 8pm – Festival Folk: The Wilderness Yet, £19 - Book Now

Nationally acclaimed folk trio The Wilderness Yet have established a growing reputation for their detailed arrangements and flawless close–knit harmony singing. Expect winter songs, wassails, and secular rewrites of classic carols.

Sun 21 Dec – Solstice Morris Dance & folk session, from 2pm, free entry

Bring warmth and joy to the shortest day with our lively local Morris sides and traditional tunes.

Pub open all day, food served 12-7pm (restricted menu)
As is their annual tradition, Pebworth Morris & Shakespeare Mummers perform in the courtyard at lunchtime.

All welcome for a folk session afterwards.

Wassail!

Saturday 10th Jan 2026, from 6pm, Free Entry

Christmas is over and January sees the return of the Fleece Inn annual Wassail. From dusk the apple orchard becomes alive with cider, singing and Morris dancers! Join us for this pagan tradition of waking the trees to encourage a good harvest in preparation for next years cider, fun for all the family and a brilliant way to dispel those winter blues!
