The pub is the focal point for a vibrant local community, where you can find morris dancers, folk sessions, vintage car gatherings, CAMRA meetings and much more. Thursday night is our regular Folk Session, with Celtic Folk on the third Wednesday of the month, and the Shifting Sunday Session on the second Sunday.
Our Fleecey Folk gig series runs Sept-June, welcoming award-winning artists for around the World class.

Why Did People Believe in Witchcraft? A talk by Professor Darren Oldridge: Fri 13 Feb 2026, 8pm, £10
Darren Oldridge is a specialist in sixteenth and seventeenth-century religious history. He has written extensively on witchcraft and the Devil, the supernatural, and the religious context of the English Civil Wars. A recurring theme of his work is the rationality underpinning apparently strange beliefs. In this spirit, his talk at The Fleece will explain how seemingly bizarre ideas about magic and the Devil made sense to people in the age of witch trials.
