Male & female wedding couple kissing. The bride has blonde hair and a rise & greenery headdress. Guests in the background smile. They are all in a timber framed barn with a large hanging iron candelabra decorated with more greenery.
A bright view of wooden tables set for a wedding service in a horseshow shape. White table runners & flowers in vases decorate the laid tables. Oak benches run either side and there's bunting hung in the timbered frame eaves

“We cannot thank you enough, we had an absolutely amazing day !! It was an incredible day,  still feels like a dream,  such a beautiful venue. We are so happy we found you.” Mr & Mrs Skinner (see the film of their day below)

Tailored to You

With  a particular emphasis on tailoring your special day specifically to you, the Fleece Inn offers something many larger venues do not, and if it’s personality you are looking for this 15th Century building has bags of it!

Here at the Fleece Inn all ingredients from our extensive menus are sourced locally and as a traditionally English pub we stock a large range of real ales and traditional ciders, one of which is made on the premises. The grounds of the Fleece are ideal for summer weddings, the apple orchard and well groomed garden are the perfect setting for those all important photographs and a lovely place to enjoy reception drinks with your guests. During the cooler months the open fire basket and tree lights are an enchanting sight.

The barn itself is a unique and intimate venue for your ceremony, the hops that line the timber beams are intertwined with lights, a truly magical setting for such a special occasion. The transformation post ceremony  for your wedding breakfast and reception is outstanding. With such a huge amount of character this venue suits the minimal and informal look as well as the  creative and extravagant.

"Every detail added a layer of magic to our day"

"We couldn’t have imagined a more perfect place to say “I do” than at The Fleece Inn! We wanted something slightly unique snd laidback ‘A quintessentially British pub garden’ , whilst also feeling special enough for our big day. From the moment we stepped onto the property, we knew we had found something truly special - It was the first and last venue we visited. The Fleece Inn doesn’t just provide a venue, it provides an experience. From the 15th century thatched barn, the rustic charm of the pub and bespoke pieces (the shepherds hut, the red phone box), to the beautiful natural flowers covering the garden - Every detail added a layer of magic to our day and every single corner is photo worthy.

THE FOOD - Where do I even begin. We had ‘Pie and Pudding’ which was incredibly reasonably priced and my god, it was INCREDIBLE! I was inundated with compliments about the food and even in a 34 degree heatwave, the guests cleared their plates. Our wedding co-ordinator (Jacquie) was wonderful - Providing the right touch of ‘suggestions’ vs understanding our vision. Having spoken to friends of mine who have felt a constant pressure by their venue to ‘spend more’ - I realise how lucky I was with Jacquie. At no point was I pressured in anyway to ‘purchase add ons’ , all the prices were very reasonable and the venue were very accommodating - Allowing me to bring some little extras at no cost. They even restocked the fish finger sandwiches (evening food) for free after my guests inhaled the initial platter! If you’re looking for a wedding venue that’s far from ordinary but full of tradition, soul, and stunning details, look no further than The Fleece Inn. We are endlessly grateful for the memories made here—it was everything we hoped for and so much more. "

"Absolutely stunning setting"

Absolutely stunning setting for a wedding. We stayed in the Gypsy Caravan which is located at the bottom of an orchard. The quietness is amazing and as for the caravan, it was an absolutely wonderful experience. Delightfully decorated and also has a little wood burning stove for those cold winter evening’s. The breakfast was of superb quality and you have a choice of having it brought to you or eating in the pub. As it was cold we opted for the pub which is steeped in history. Definitely recommend and will certainly return.”
